Daniella Eriksson is a dancer and choreographer from Sweden. She invites the spectators to a universe similar to the one we inhabit, but where things seem to have new strange colors and textures. Meaning and causality is not what is commonly recognized as such and ordinary objects have peculiar lives of their own. Sudden shifts and strong juxtapositions of expressions and movement characterizes her work, inspired by train platforms and carrots, old trees and fancy cardigans. Daniella creates a universe that challenges the audience to question what they are looking at when they think they know what they see.
Daniella has studied at Stockholm University of the Arts (BA 2012-2015) and Den Danske Scenekunstskole in Copenhagen (MFA 2020-2022). Since 2016 she has toured her own work to theatres and festivals around Europe and worked as a dancer in works by choreographers such as Björn Säfsten, Lea Moro, Wilhelm Groener and Rosalind Crisp.
